Difficulty VI of X
  1. 01

Receive the opponent's forward pressure as he attempts to close distance, whether from standing or as he postures within the closed guard.

  2. 02

Thread the near arm beneath his offered neck as his head drops past your shoulder line, palm turning upward as if lifting a bowl.

  3. 03

Clasp the opposite hand to seal the choking arm, forming a single unbroken frame across the trachea, elbow drawn tight to the centerline of your own chest.

  4. 04Precision point

Angle the head to one side, chin lifted, so that the blade of the forearm bites cleanly across the windpipe rather than the jaw.

  5. 05

Secure the legs about his torso or hips, denying retreat, and arch the spine backward while drawing the elbow down and in.

  6. 06

Maintain steady compression, watching the color of the face and the softening of resistance, releasing the instant consciousness wavers.
